慈向群，男，著名画家、设计家、编审、国家一级美术师。1959年出生于美术世家，1984年毕业于中央工艺美术学院（现清华大学美术学院），师从于张仃、李苦禅、吴冠中、余秉楠、姚庆章等著名艺术大师和著名教授。现为中国美术家协会会员、中国装帧艺术设计协会设计家、中国书画名家研究会副理事长、中央美术学院、城市设计学院等艺术学院兼职教授、中国书画收藏学会副会长、中国当代艺术协会名誉主席、世界教科文卫组织首席艺术家、中国艺术名家研究院、北京当代环球书画院、宋庄国际书画院等书画院名誉院长、《世界文化名人辞海》委员会、中国国际艺术网、英格兰皇家艺术基金会等机构艺术学术顾问，曾为中国工艺美术家协会、世界艺术家协会、美国海外艺术家协会、联合国美术家协会等协会理事和副主席。
